The New York Times Reports on Closed Colleges!

The Closed College Consortium

Rocco Garro-Director

We wish to thank Mr. Richard Schnider and Mr. Morgan G. Brenner for all of their assistance in creating this site, and all of the other people who are working hard to update this site, in an effort to make it a great place for those seeking information.

This site is for all those alumni whose colleges have closed, and left them without their educational roots.  Many old schools still have existing Alumni Associations, and, to varying degrees, are struggling to keep their organizations alive against overwhelming odds.

The Closed College Consortium ("CCC") was created so that representatives of closed schools can work together, gain strength and gather ideas from each other.  On the next page, they are listed as "Participating Alumni and Associations."

We are aware of many other colleges that have closed their doors.   We have tried to contact many of them, to invite their participation in this endeavor.  Alas, many of the old schools do not have active alumni associations, no current web site, and no way to get in touch with them.  If you are from any school that closed, you are welcome to join in.

Presently, the CCC exists only in the cyber space of the World Wide Web.  To become a participating member, just send us an e-mail, telling us what school you are from, and something about your school.  If you have a web site, that would be good, too.  If you would like to create one, we can do that for you, too.  No charge.  We hope to be able to produce a booklet with college information in the future.  Aside from contributing to the discussion, membership requires nothing from you....

New!  Info on College Loans.

We are now accepting  additional alumni submissions.

Contact the Director of the Closed College Consortium with information to post new or update closed college listings.  We have no information about transcripts other than what is already posted on this site.  We are in the process of updating site.
Due to the nature of the subject matter, it is difficult to double-check the accuracy of our listings.  We welcome corrections and updates from our visitors.
